Summary: The Purchasing and Inventory Specialst maintains vendor relationships and appropriate inventory levels to ensure all necessary materials are available for production jobs running through the Label and Card division.

Reports To: Strategic Sourcing & Pricing Manager, Corporate

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Manages vendor relationships and interactions. Responsible for keeping up to date on new materials, material changes and industry trends.
  2. Issues purchase orders for Label stock, ink and supply items. Orders are to be placed for JIT delivery wherever possible.
  3. Receives, verifies and processes all allocations and reserves of label inventory stock. Verifies on hand quantity if on hand inventory is less than 10,000 pieces.
  4. Monitors key supply item levels needed for general operations.
  5. Participates in physical inventory counts at month and fiscal year end.
  6. Creates new items on appropriate perpetual inventory as needed and approved.
  7. Submits and monitors supplier NCRs. Verifying proper credit is received and inventory adjustments are processed on a timely basis.
  8. Interacts with Material Handlers to ensure accurate and timely reporting / recording of material receipts and provides follow-up information when deliveries are not received on time.

Experience Required:

  1. Thorough understanding of flexo and digital printing processes, label stocks and supplies.
  2. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, good mathematical skills, proficiency in computers and inventory systems.
  3. Extensive knowledge of label stock performance and products.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Technical or vocational certificate is required (or equivalent work experience), 4-year degree in business or related field is preferred.
  2. Must successfully pass drug screen & background check.
  3. Psychological profile testing is required as part of the pre-hire process

The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds while moving files or small packages.
