2nd shift: Mon - Fri 2 p.m. - 10 p.m.

++Hourly wage $26/hr plus $0.50 shift differential. Starting wage may be higher based on experience.

SUMMARY: Capable of operating all diecutting equipment accurately and efficiently , according to job ticket and SOP instructions. Has understanding of type of work and requirements dealt with within the diecutting department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Reads, reviews and understands the job ticket, layout sheet, proofs, artwork, and customer specifications before beginning the scheduled job. Reports any questions or problems to the Area Process Manager.
  2. Inspects dies to determine suitability for the job.
  3. Rules sheet out for inspecting trims, straightness, correctness of folds, and checks sheet against proofs and artwork
  4. Achieves “OK’d” matches and/or approval to proofs under the direction of the Pressroom Superintnedent or Pressroom Supervisor, or Shift Lead Operator.
  5. Checks press sheets for marks and abraisions on both sides of sheets.
  6. Pulls and labels run samples with sheet count listed.
  7. Records the quantity of good sheets on an allocated area of the job ticket.
  8. Removes and preserves all dies for storage.
  9. Performs routine and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment. Keeps work area neat and clean.
  10. Performs all assigned work efficiently and on schedule; works overtime when requested, according to company policy.
  11. Reports time and materials consumption accuractely.
  12. Attends all scheduled departmental, SPC meetings etc.
  13. Performs work efficiently and on schedule.
  14. Follows instructions accurately. Maintains quality and productivity standards.
  15. Obeys company rules and observes all safety regulations. Performs job duties in accordance with all corporate work policies, procedures and federal, state, local & company safety rules.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to follow verbal and written job instructions, including those dealing with dimensions and quantities; ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, and to be an effective team player.

  2. Ability to operate various kinds of diecutting equipment, i.e., guillotine cutters, labeling and taping machines.
  3. Requires above average mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform repetitive manual tasks. Manual dexterity and excellent eye/hand coordination are required to safely manipulate sheeted material of stock, carts, skids with finished product throughout the plant.
  4. Level of work activity is usually medium, must be able to move freely on foot throughout the plant, stand for sustained periods of time, perform repetitious lifting, bending, turning, twisting, grasping, carrying, pushing, pulling, loading, toting, and torquing functions. Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally.
  5. Ability to converge fine lines such as alignment of one (1) point rules to check accuracy of cutting. Requires good eye resolution. Must test in the normal range for color on vision exam; and have ability to compare color.
  6. Thorough knowledge of safe machine operations, maintenance, and set-up practices is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Two (2) plus years experience as a Diecutter Operator on Bobst, Youngshin, or large format clam shell equipment (such as Thompson or Standard).
  2. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Technical or vocational degree in graphic arts is required.
  3. Must satisfactorily pass pre-employment skills testing, physical and drug test, and test in the normal range for color on vision exam.
